The Conservation Campaign helps win public funding to protect America's land and water for future generations.
WHAT WE DO
The Conservation Campaign is the only national organization dedicated exclusively to political action to create, renew and protect public funding for conservation. Our mission is to provide practical and operational support to local and statewide voter campaigns and legislative lobbying efforts.
WHO WE ARE
The Conservation Campaign was established in 2000 by The Trust for Public Land, a national land conservation organization, as its 501(c)(4) nonprofit partner in lobbying and ballot measure campaigns. Most often, we work with The Trust for Public Land's conservation finance team in partnership with local campaign leaders or state coalitions.
WHO WE WORK WITH
A nonpartisan organization, the Conservation Campaign works with elected officials of both parties as well as a wide range of community stakeholders, including farmers and ranchers, the business community, developers and realtors, land trusts and other conservation groups.
The Conservation Campaign and The Trust for Public Land have been directly involved in one-quarter of all conservation finance measures since 1996, generating $35 billion in new public funding for land conservation. By successfully encouraging voters and public officials to invest billions of dollars in shaping a greener future for their communities, we help preserve lakes and rivers, wildlife habitat and productive agricultural lands, protect drinking water, and create the parks, trails and public spaces that make cities livable and bring communities together.
