Campaign Sponsorship
To promote the passage of a ballot measure, the Conservation Campaign can join with local supporters to form a corporate campaign committee. A campaign committee sponsored by the Conservation Campaign has several advantages over an independent committee:
Legal expertise. We make sure that sponsored campaigns meet all state and federal legal requirements. Our general counsel is a leading expert in campaign finance and lobbying laws.
Accounting assistance. The Conservation Campaign serves as a neutral entity to hold and account for funds raised by the different organizations involved in the campaign. We understand the tax laws and handle local and IRS tax filings for the campaign.
Liability insurance. All campaign officers are covered by the Conservation Campaign's corporate liability policy.
Direct mail cost savings. Sponsored campaigns can use our direct mail permit to substantially reduce postage costs.
